CABS Zipit Limits
In this post, we are going to be looking at CABS Zipit Limits. CABS Bank was traditionally a leader in the Zimbabwean banking sector when it came to technology adoption.
It was one of the very first banks that introduced Zipit to its customer base. In the early days you could only Zipit via USSD (text platform) but now you can Zipit on the CABS app or online via internet banking.
Zipit came in very convenient as it saved people the hustle of going to banks and standing in long queues to deposit money. It also made it easy to do other banking transactions in the office or from the comfort of their home.
They could pay school fees, buy groceries and pay for services using the platform. Many businesses have since adopted Zipit as a payment option.
For businesses, Zipit saves a lot of time as there is no need to travel to and from the bank or to fill in many deposit slips. Salaries can be paid using this platform. It came in handy during the Covid lockdowns as most transactions were being done online.
Zipit Transaction Limits
However, Zipit has a daily limit and a monthly limit that is lower than that of swiping. Take for example banks like Standard Chartered; you can swipe as much as ZWL$2,500,000 per day as an individual and Steward Bank allows ZWL$100,000 per day for an individual.
We will take a look at the CABS Zipit limit. It is limited to ZWL$25,000 per day. You are only allowed 5 transactions per day but they have to be within that 25,000 confines. On top of that, you are also limited to ZWL$100,000 per week.
If you need to transact more than 100,000 then you will need to use the other options that are available.
Getting Around Zipit Limits
Other options available to you are swiping, online transfer, and EcoCash. To use EcoCash, your bank account needs to be linked to it. If it is not linked, you can do so by following the simple steps below.
- First your CABS Bank Account must be linked to CABS Mobile Banking on an Econet Mobile number and you must have an EcoCash account on that Econet Mobile number.
- Dial *227# to access the CABS Mobile Banking menu. Select Option 9 (Admin). Select Option 4 (Mobile Money Services) and follow the instructions on the screen. If your registration is successful, you will receive a confirmation SMS.
- To send money from your CABS account to EcoCash, use the EcoCash App or dial *151#. Enter pin. When you are in the EcoCash menu select Banking services the select CABS bank if you have linked more than one bank to your EcoCash account. You can then transfer money from your bank to your wallet.
